Creating healthy and inclusive workplaces
Job crafting happens when employees are upskilled and empowered to make proactive changes to their jobs, in collaboration with their line managers and colleagues as appropriate.
Our trial will equip employees with job crafting skills, helping them to take active steps to improve their person-job fit and be as engaged, happy, healthy and productive as possible in their work. Good for workers and good for employers.

What would partnering with WISHES look like?
Our research team are experienced at running applied research projects with partner employers. Our approach is one of partnership and pragmatism.
We would meet with your organisation’s People and EDI leads to listen to your priorities and discuss how best to deliver the trial in your organisation. We will support you in recruiting employee participants into the trial and keep you updated throughout.
Our job crafting trial will be delivered between Summer 2026 – August 2027. Partner employers can join at any point within that time period. For each partner employer we are seeking to recruit between 50 – 150 eligible employees into the WISHES job crafting trial. For larger organisations (c750+ staff) we would hope to recruit 100-150 eligible employees into the trial.
Which workers are eligible to take part in the WISHES trial?
Participation in the WISHES trial is open to all UK-resident workers who would like to make their work more manageable, engaging and enjoyable through job crafting. Although all workers are eligible, WISHES may be of particular interest to those who self-identify as having any type of disability, long-term health condition and/or workplace support needs (e.g. caring responsibilities, faith practices, combining multiple jobs) and we have designed training to be inclusive and accessible for people in these groups.
How does my organisation take part or find out more?
You find out more in our WISHES employer guide.
